Great introduction to keeping a crew happy and motivated on a five day trip. Calm, clear instruction throughout. Happy crew insightful tuition, beautiful yacht in the World's best cruising grounds. (S.G.)

Thanks Tony for a great week. Perfect for gaining confidence in boat handling/passage planning. Hard to know how we could have crammed more into the week. Great Instruction, beautiful sailing area and boat and a merry crew too - Super Chuffed! (M.B.)

Invaluable experience. Thoroughly competent and congenial instructor. The course was exactly what I hoped for. (S.D.)

A fabulous five days despite being stormbound in Tobermory for one day. I received a huge range of experience much of which will be memorable for life. A highly rewarding week which exceeded my expectation and was great value for money. (D.J.)

Great course. Learned a tonne! (S.McB.)

I've gone from being a very nervous sailor to one with much more confidence in my ability to be a helpful crew member. It was a most enjoyable exciting and informative week. Fantastic in my book. (D.O'R.)

Your West Coast sailing course was not only enjoyable but was fantastic value for money. We learned a lot too and are looking forward to our next sailing trip. (P.McM.)

The level and detail of instruction were first class. Students were able to put into practice what was being learned, which gives confidence for the future. (D.A.)

I learned how to do lots of things that I will now have the confidence to practice, e.g. bucket overboard drill. (C.H.)

Many useful ways of doing things learnt during the week. (J.H.)

Thank you for a most enjoyable week.I have been on a number of courses over the years, but none as thorough and detailed, as that with West Coast Sailing. Have just viewed your "Animations". Absolutely excellent. These will be a big help in remembering the various manoeuvres we carried out. (S.H.)

Many thanks for an excellent, exacting and very comprehensive 5 day course. It has given us a much needed shake-up! (D.L.)

Overall the course was excellent with the right balance of guidance from you and allowing us to get on with it. Thanks again for an excellent course. (A.M.)

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Tony's experience of teaching mixed with his seamanship ability, experience and skills made for an excellent course with plenty of practical time and theory where needed most. He also provided great entertainment and hosting along the way. Thanks. (S.McD.)

Excellent week with plenty instruction suitable to my level and also indicating what knowledge is required for next level up. (A.S.)

Course was excellent, intense at times, stressful at times, great fun. (M.F.)

Thanks for an excellent week. I've said to several people that it was the best 4 days sailing I've known. (D.S.)
(One day's sailing was lost due to bad weather.)

My time on Capella/RYA course was terrific value for money – besides being one of best activity holidays I have ever had – everything was excellent, the yacht, the scenery, the tuition, the company and the course content. The yacht was a joy to sail and stay aboard. Felt totally safe, (appeared to virtually sail herself on occasion), sailed in even light airs and was always reassuringly stable, reliable and manageable – even for an inexperienced helmsman such as myself. I also have no idea how you have kept the accommodations, woodwork and facilities so immaculate. The mix of locations, passages, stop-overs, berths, scenery and wildlife was brilliant and exceeded expectations. I’m someone who has known the Firth of Clyde on commercial ferries for a lifetime; it was a wholly amazing new experience to view that area from a yacht. ”: I feel as a competent crew student, that it was a real bonus for me that I was aboard with Day-Skipper students – it meant I got to see a lot else involved in sailing, and moreover, repeated sufficiently for the additional knowledge/practical experience to sink in. . High points? = being at wheel, under sail on approach into Lochranza, a place I have visited since boyhood / preparing the lunch while yacht heeled over making way. The company was excellent. I could not have asked for a nicer mix of people, we all rubbed along brilliantly. Hopefully the above gives you an idea of how I found my “West Coast Sailing” experience = outstanding! (T.C)

Can't tell you how much I enjoyed the whole experience of the course, I've not stopped telling everyone I know about it and encouraging dinghy friends to "trade up". Thanks again. (J.F.)

An exceptionally informative experience. The deliberate assessment of the weather and sailing conditions was a major factor in the overall experience. Your personal antidotes and humor were an added enjoyment. Thank you for everything! (G.D.)

This was a great course! Thanks to Tony’s expert knowledge, professionalism and patient teaching ability I was able to take abstract theories and turn them into practical applications in learning better boat handling skills and navigation. It was a lot of work but fun and rewarding. My only regret was that I wish had been better prepared to take advantage of Tony’s willingness to share his knowledge and experience. I stepped off Capella with more than I was expecting. (J.C.)

This was a great course and I learned so much. Tony is a master teacher, always calm and patient with his nstructions. The material was presented in a clear and concise manner and any questions were answered before moving on. The boat is comfortable and extremely clean. We had great fun planning and cooking our own meals on board! Highly recommended! (R.W.)
